Papa John’s is a U.S.-based global pizza franchise with thousands of locations across more than 45 countries. While the corporate entity has not publicly partnered with Israel, its Israeli franchisees have made pro-Israel social media posts and reportedly donated food to IDF soldiers. These actions have been acknowledged by grassroots activists and campaigners in multiple countries. The BDS National Committee supports these local boycott campaigns, citing Papa John’s role in normalizing and materially supporting Israel’s military activities during the genocide in Gaza.

Consumer backlash has been strongest in Asia and Europe, where fast food brands tied to Israel—especially those allowing pro-occupation content—have come under sustained boycott pressure. Papa John’s, alongside McDonald’s and Pizza Hut, appears regularly on lists of companies targeted by grassroots boycotts endorsed by the BDS Movement.
